I have read this book before and I enjoyed listening to it so much, this is my second time through. It feels really good to see the way she navigates through the office mire and ends up a glowing star. Annabelle plans to charm the old codger! Working in an office again, Annabelle is reminded of the good, comraderie and the bad, a nasty, jealous co-worker. Said landlord leaves rules and writes notes to his "tenant" about perceived infractions to his rules. Sophie and her husband find temporary housing for Annabelle in the gorgeous outbuilding of the home of a mysterious curmudgeon of a landlord. Annabelle moves to Phoenix to become the artistic director in her best friend Sophie's advertising company. For this production, I love the male/female narration, and wish more romantic stories were read by both male and female readers. Jenn McKinlay is the mistress of sweet, comic romances. And soon she wonders if she and Nick might help each other find the courage to embrace life, happiness, and true love.
