Cassie and Donna don't have huge roles at first. ST: What role will the WW family (Donna, Cassie) play in your stories? Will there be elements from past runs that will be included in your stories? Our stories will have layers, I think, but I want the main stories to be sort of brutally straightforward for a little while. One of my all-time favorite versions of the character appeared in Grant Morrison's JLA, where even the rest of the JLA were slightly in awe of her, as if she were a force of nature and will rather than just another babe in a swimsuit. I like a Wonder Woman that performs miraculous things. What happens when you put the world's greatest warrior in a situation that we all can relate to, but are personally powerless to do anything about? That's fascinating stuff to me. Nevertheless, for me, it's not the gods or the Department of Metahuman Affairs or the supporting cast that makes a great Wonder Woman story. Allan set up a spectacular set of events and he returned scale to the book, and Jodi, I wish she hadn't had her run happen in the middle of a big crossover, because she's an extraordinarily brave and intelligent writer, and there's some really bright work in there, particularly for someone new to comics. I've actually really been enjoying the work of Jodi and Allan. Gail Simone: Diana's been through the grinder lately, it's true, and it's a much more complicated affair than it seems from the stuff you hear on the internet. What is your Wonder Woman going to be like? Will there be more focus on the Greek God aspects of her backgrounds or more in the DC world, with her work as Diana Prince? She's given up the title to take on Wonder Woman, a book that will gain some stability after shipping delays and creator changes made the Year Later relaunch stumble a bit. Gail Simone has spent the last five years on DC's Birds of Prey, bringing the title steady sales and rehabilitating a number of characters who threatened to fall from the radar, most prominently Black Canary.
